If you don’t already know what “Jailbreaking” is:

Jailbreaking is a way in which iphone and ipod touch users can hack their device to allow 3rd party(non apple) apps onto their ipods. This cn include themes, tweaks and even illegal copies of Apple apps.

On Sunday 11th George Hotz, AKA GeoHot. Released the easy solution for the iphone and ipod touch jailbreaking community. It is an extreemly simple way of “hacking” into the device using a program named “Blackra1n”.

The program (shown below) only has 1 button. That is just how simple the jailbreaking process has become.

The program is designed to hack the Apple 3.1.2 firmware. However there are some downsides of this.

Some of the major attractions of jailbreaking are not yet available for this new firmware. This includes “Winterboard” the famous theme applicator.

The jailbreak will have to wait for a future update in the Winterboard and other apps in order to use them with this firmware.

So I’ve been contemplating writing a blog for some time now but i have finally put pen to paper…well, finger-tips to keyboard and got writing.

I have been advised by many people to make this a weekly occurance, however as this is a tech blog i will have to follow suit with the tech blog and move fast. When tech news appears i will blog and tell you exactly what is going on and my opinions on it.

I am not going to express my opinion on something that i do not know anything about, i will leave that up to you guys . However, if i think i have something to add to the matter i will express it.
